Sarah Hash-Cox spent years as a government journalist and editor before, at the age of 62, she began dogpaddling her way into the technicolor, wide-open world of poetry and fiction. Her Jenna’s Somethin’ Better, a non-heartwarming tale about victims of the South’s opiate epidemic; and a poetry collection, High Horse Days, which centers around addiction and its collateral damage, are works in progress. She lives in Hawaii with her husband of 40 years and two geriatric cats, Ziggy and Oliver.
